Our Centre of Excellence for Metro & Tram hosted the latest Keolis Tramway Club, this time in Bordeaux, where we have operated the network since 2009.

The aim was to bring together our Public Transport Authorities (PTAs), elected officials and French and international networks to consider one question: what does the tram of tomorrow look like?

Substantive discussions, enriched by feedback and lessons learnt from Bordeaux, Manchester, Dublin, Lille, Orléans, Île-de-France, included network modernisation, capacity increases, exemplar safety, major events management and enhancing the passenger experience — the real issues, tackled head-on.

Keolis: Driving innovation in tramway operations

Keolis currently operates 24 networks spanning over 700 kilometres across 9 countries: Australia, Canada, China, Denmark, France, Qatar, Sweden, United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom. From September 2026, we will also operate the Luas network in Ireland.

Through the Tramway Club, Keolis reinforces its position as a global expert in tram operation and maintenance. This forum fosters collaboration and the exchange of experiences, aiming to enhance operational excellence and drive innovation to better serve major cities. By uniting experts and PTAs, the Tramway Club contributes to elevating public transport standards worldwide, promoting tram networks that are increasingly sustainable, efficient, and safe.
